The Escapist 100/100

« A brilliantly told story, excellent voice acting, and an atmosphere so unnerving you'll sleep with the lights on for a month. If only it came with a bottle of instant amnesia so that you could play it for the first time more than once. »

Joystiq 100/100

« Ultimately, Alan Wake is driven -- as is any good story -- by the impulse to see what happens next. It offers up a believable world, characters worth caring about, enjoyable combat and a narrative I wanted to follow. »

GamingTrend 95/100

« Alan Wake is definitely art, and is well written enough to keep my wife and I on the edge of our seats from beginning to end. If I can admit something, and give Alan Wake the biggest compliment I can bestow, I’d tell you that I had a nightmare about the game the night after I completed it. No horror game has ever managed that feat or even come close. It may have taken them five years to kick it out of the door, but Remedy has created a masterpiece. »

XboxAddict 93/100

« Now, you can chalk it up to the absolute rush of endorphins I've had simply by having this title in hand after a 5 year wait, but I found it very difficult to find fault in this title. »

Gaming Target 93/100

« It’s a horror game that doesn’t rely on clunky controls and denying the player supplies to produce tension. It’s an action game with pages of novelized story to read. Yet every element of the game is cohesive and feels right as you play it. »

Planet Xbox 360 92/100

« More than once Alan Wake reminded us of books, movies, and TV shows that we love and spend hours with every week; it helped merge the video game experience with those other memorable moments. For once a video game was able to show exactly what it means to create something that brings emotion to the gamer; on top of that Alan Wake was just damn fun to play. »

MondoXbox 92/100

« If you're looking for a game with a great story, dense with mystery and suspense and capable of keeping you in constant distress for hours, Alan Wake won't disappoint you. It isn't a perfect game mainly due to the somewhat repetitive action sequences, but its core is in the fantastic plot and storytelling. It undoubtedly is a great and unique experience, and as such it's highly suggested. »

Xbox Achievements 92/100

« Remedy set out to create one of the most intense and gripping story experiences of the year and they delivered on their goals with sublime ease. An utterly compelling cast of characters and the most engaging story we’ve experienced in years means that Alan Wake is a must buy. The best survival-horror thriller we’ve seen for quite some time. It’s more Resident Evil than Resident Evil 5 was! Move over Capcom, Alan Wake’s in town! »

Leothenoob 7/10

« Alan Wake is a very Stephen Kingish and Twin Peaks like action/horror game that tells a story of a writer on holiday where things go very wrong. This isn't a game for everyone, but with its flaws I still enjoyed it very much. Gameplay in Alan wake is a mixed bag for me. Shooting feels fresh, you have to first point with your flashlight and then shoot the enemies but at the same time it's way too easy sometimes. There are only a couple of enemy types, I would have liked more. There are too some dodging mechanics, but it feels clunky and not good. But oh how it feels when you manage to make a good dodge. I think I would have liked combat a lot more if it were more challenging and had more variety. For example there are only 4 types of enemies, and I would like more different guns and gameplay mechanics. In the 2 dlc episodes, there is some environmental fighting, using gas pipes to blow up enemies' style. I would like that in the main game too. There is also too much combat, and this should have been a more horror game than action game. Don't come to this game expecting the best combat in video game history, but instead some okay, fun, sometimes feeling a little bit blank combat. This is in my opinion the worst area in Alan Wake. The environment is a mixed bag for me as well. I didn’t personally like any forest area in this game, it felt copy pasted and boring. But any other environment that wasn’t a forest, I really enjoyed. My favorite place was Bright Falls. Exploration is sometimes useful, a lot of the time i found myself in very odd places looking for something that isn’t there. I would like more things to cheer for exploring. The whole environment for this game is very good, matching the game's atmosphere even if I didn’t like it all the time The characters in this game were okay, nobody shined over others and they all felt pretty natural. Nothing good to say, but at the same time there isn’t any bad character. The character I liked most, was our protagonist, Alan Wake. There is just some charm in him, but I would like more comments on him from the events of the game while playing. The best thing about this game I would say are cutscenes. They were interesting, every time something happened to make the story forward. Pacing in this game feels odd in this game. It follows a show-like structure, and I didn't like the structure very much. Alan Wake consists of 6 episodes. I didn't like the first 3, it felt boring and uninteresting. It really clicked for me in episode 4 and it lasted all until the end. I played it for around 12 hours, so it isn't the longest game. I think it could have been a shorter game in my opinion, there is some filler in the game. But now to the best part about this game, the story that it tells. It's different from any other story game that I have played, and I liked it very much. The ending was great, and the journey to the ending was very good. You should definitely play this, if you respect some unique story with awesome telling and cutscenes. In the end, Alan Wake is a game that is carried by its strong story and atmosphere. If you like story games, and you don't get annoyed by some awful combat and repetitive environments, you should give it a try. 7/10 »

« mekaniklerin bokluğuyla oyunda sadece milyonlarca karanlık varlıkları öldürdüğümüz uzattıkça uzatılan zaman israfı bir oyun »

CHAOSbutler 9/10

« One of the best stories in gaming. The use the light to weaken the enemies was honestly unique and welcome. The characters were all incredibly well done. If I have a complaint its just the facial animations. Though it doesnt hold the game or break the immersion. »

Marcozanella 9/10

PrimeBrysnKD 9/10

« 8.6/10. Alan Wake is a very unique game and it does well. The gameplay with using light before shooting enemies is fun and unique and the story is good. I don't have much to say about this game but I do recommend it. »

Cecil171922 8/10

« Such a great and unique game, plenty of action, cool horror elements, excellent! »

TheFatWeiner 8/10

« While Remedy introduces a new, innovative mechanic of using light as your weapon, the game gets repetitive after a while. However, it does have some redeeming qualities, like its compelling story and action-packed combat. 4/5 stars. »
