What genre is the game? It is a mixture of Tower Defense, RPG & RTS with some shoot’em’up and Snake elements. What's Gameplay like? Move Brad around the battlefield and dodge incoming enemy attacks and projectiles. Brad is constantly playing his axe-lute and generating notes, standing still will cause him to "jam" and generate notes even faster. These notes act as your in-game resource; you can spend them to perform solos to summon units to follow and fight for you, as well as solos to boost their performance. Navigate your party through the hordes of enemies, dodging and attacking, preventing them from destroying your town's prized decorative crystal. Survive waves to progress, collect loot, and unlock new units. Upon death you are able to visit the town shop in order to upgrade Brad, the town and your followers, in hopes to make it further next time.
Histoire (IGDB)
You play as Brad the barbarian, who is awoken to the sounds of his town under siege. Today is different though; Brad has grown tired of fighting all the time. The usual grind for XP has grown dull, and he has decided to pursue his dreams of making music instead of shedding blood. Fashioning a lute out of an old axe, he steps out to save his town in the most bizarre of ways.

« This game is too awesome. I am not a huge gamer, but it hooked me really quickly, and I sunk way too many hours into it. The balance is really great, and the tone of the game with its hand-drawn art style, epic music, and humorous touches all fit together to make one great experience. At $0.99, the cost is more than reasonable, even with the coin doubler IAP, which is not necessary - but makes things just a little easier. I can't recommend this game enough!!! »
« Quite a gem by an indie group. It has a fun art style which works quite nicely for them (characters have no neck, arms and legs, floating head, hands and feet) and is very smooth in its animations. If you like classical rock, this game has it with some very nice tracks. Hopefully soon they will have a way to download the soundtrack. The setup is also nice with lots of things to unlock, and they stay away from the overdone "3 star levels" system. Rather, the game plays almost like an endless game, but instead with actual progression taking the form of progressing through the course of one day (morning, afternoon, etc). The various kinds of units you can unlock and upgrade are varied and provide a fun variation that you can experiment with to find the play style that suits you best. The game is cheap, and I highly recommend getting the golden axe IAP (gold doubler) since it's also cheap and developers put such high quality work together should be supported. The game has had it's initial release bugs and problems, but it's nothing that can't, and hasn't already been taken care of. Looking forward to future updates of this game, and maybe even Bardbarian 2! Oh, and the name is awesome. If nothing else, you have to try the game cause of the awesome name "Bardbarian". »
