One of the best RTS games in PC history is yours for less than $3
Which kind of RTS do you prefer? Do you like the huge-scale, battle-wide epic, like Command and Conquer and Age of Empires, or the low-key, squad-driven tactics shooter, like Company of Heroes and XCOM 2? A mix is certainly good, but personally, I prefer the latter. You take a small number of maneuverable troops, send them on dangerous missions behind enemy lines, and up the gameplay stakes so that every single decision can mean the difference between life and death. I'd love to see a new Command and Conquer, especially in the retro style of Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert, but one tactics-driven RTS is already making its PC comeback, and now you can own its original, classic outing for less than the price of a sandwich. « I played the first mission. I ran across snow and asphalt to stealth kill a patrolling enemy from behind, he didn't even turn around. A sentry saw me run behind a house, started shooting at me, walked over to where he saw me, and finally spun around and walked back to rest without checking behind the house or calling for help. I killed a soldier and a patrol group of three found the body, shouted "alarm!", then resumed their patrol as though nothing happened. I then shot and killed this patrol group, but the guy who spent the entire mission smoking two houses away didn't hear anything. A guard started shooting me and I killed him - someone heard him shoot and ran over so I killed him - someone else heard him shoot so he ran over and I killed him as well. Judging by the stellar reviews, it seems most find this level of AI programming acceptable. I do not. »
« Commandos is a classic. It remembers me of my childhood. After 20 years it still amuse me. I cant recomend for a younger generation, but i can for everyone who born before 2000's and want to play an old nostalgic strategy game. »

Worst is moving them same time. - shooting range limit Ive played many years ago, and new games with same gameplay formula, is same unattractive. Should been or AI controlled tactics,programmable game, or one hero at once or turn based. »
« I love that this game is real-time "tactics" and not strategy. It's got the feel of a strategy game without the complexity of micro-management. « A long time ago, I had played the game when it was released. I didn't finish it due to the difficulty and finally had done it. Pros.: - It was a unique game with different characters, planning, precision. - Different abilities. - Nice story. Really. I like WWII and history. - Some fun stuff like alarm and so on. - The game had created or at least had developed a specific genre that blossomed into Desperados III, a great one! Cons.: - It is a challenging game. Tough game. At least for me. Sometimes glitches with the vision helped me. - The briefings were becoming shorter and simpler. It seemed to me that the developers kind of ran out of ideas and finished the game. - The game is outdated. Obviously and unfortunately. »
