Description (IGDB)

Do Not Feed the Monkeys is a digital voyeur simulator: a narrative-driven game where you invade the privacy of dozens of strangers and witness their most intimate moments, while you struggle to keep up to date with paying the rent and putting some food on the table. You are the newest member of the “The Primate Observation Club” -and of course it is not the wildlife conservation society the name would suggest. It is a front for a shadowy group that watches others through surveillance cameras and compromised webcams. Tired of your ramshackle apartment, dull existence and boring jobs, you’re accepted into the exclusive organization, so you can pry into the privacy of the “caged monkeys” as they go about their lives. The game lets you to Browse social networks, wikis, websites, newspapers, online stores and chat lounges to gather information about the “monkeys” you are charged to spy. The club urges you to not interfere with those observed (to not “feed the monkeys”). But then, what will you do? Will you intercede in the name of justice? Sabotage their dreams? Or will you just sit idly by while the world burns? Whatever you do (or don’t do) will have consequences!

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)

Pure Nintendo 90/100

« Do Not Feed the Monkeys is a simple game that has put a lot of effort into constructing an absorbing world that it is easy to let take priority over making sure your character eats. »

GamingTrend 90/100

« The Primate Observation Club has you watching monkeys as you struggle to pay for more cages while taking care of yourself. The balance between time and money is consistently engaging. The subject’s lives are yours to watch. There is just one key rule: Do not feed the monkeys. »

Malditos Nerds 85/100

« Do Not Feed the Monkeys is an unexpected game, first and above all, that manages to shine in a media full of over-saturated genres. It’s a genre all on its own and it deserves to be experimented. »

Vandal 82/100

« This is an incredibly original point-and-click based adventure, where we have to become some sort of detective and manage our time and money and the same time. It’s one of the most unique games we’ve played in a while, so make sure you give it a try if you’re looking for something different. »

Cultured Vultures 80/100

« Do Not Feed The Monkeys is an offbeat slice of dystopia that feels right at home on the Switch. »

Hobby Consolas 80/100

« A truly original game that fans of graphic adventures, investigation and social discourse will love. Watch out: like watching the "cages", once you start playing it's difficult to stop. »

GameSpace 80/100

« Some games are revolutionary, some are evolutionary, and some are just good at doing their own thing. Do Not Feed the Monkeys falls into the latter category and manages to take ‘unique’ in a positive direction by melding a puzzle game with resource management within a fascinating premise. »

Starbit 80/100

« Do Not Feed the Monkeys may seem like a strange title but it pretty much describes what this games is about. This point and click adventure with a management component has a very unexpected plot that's not short of hilarious moments. Thanks to an intuitive gameplay (as well as to the use of the Nintendo Switch screen) and to a good variety of choices and endings, Do Not Feed the Monkeys is a good way to spend some short gaming sessions. »

Derinn 6/10

« Do Not Feed the Monkeys is undeniably unique, but it is one-shot. I understand that through replay it is possible to come across different cameras, hence stories, but that does not exactly make a game replayable, or to say, worth replaying. Replayability aspect aside, DNFTM successfully stems your curiosity and tempts you to investigate and explore the lives on the cameras/cages, and is an entertaining game. To add, having "Un dì, felice, eterea" playing on the title screen is such a beautiful addition. »

jinshui 10/10

« One of the most creepy, fun, immersive games ever. It got so meta and real to a point where I got goosebumps playing it. 10/10. »

Lady_baby859 10/10

GBwood 10/10

« I played the Steam version already and enjoyed it a lot! So I bough the Switch version on release day: coolest adaptation ever! »
