Description (IGDB)

Gamedec is an adaptive cyberpunk RPG. As a private detective, it’s your job to solve crimes inside virtual worlds. What decisions will you make in a world where child slavery is a F2P game, where murder over a game-clan dispute is an every-day reality? Who will you become in the XXII century?

Histoire (IGDB)

Welcome to Warsaw City in the XXII century, where "real" is a relative term and "life" and "death" have many meanings. Virtual worlds give rise to real problems: lust, sloth, envy, and pride. That’s why the residents of these virtual game-worlds need specialists – Gamedecs who discover and exploit cheats hidden in the realities of their clients. Whether it’s the Wild West or the jungle of a prehistoric entertainment park, these and many other worlds confront our human nature. Which, despite many changes, has remained all too familiar…

Description Steam (Français)

But Why Tho? 90/100

« Overall, Gamedec is an excellent attempt to do the impossible. Tabletop games are as popular as they are today because they can’t be replicated anywhere else, but Gamedec comes as close as possible to making it a reality. I felt like my choices truly mattered, and that’s not something that happens often in games. While some of the virtualias can feel a bit tedious, the overall narrative they serve makes the experience worth it. »

KeenGamer 90/100

« Gamedec should be an essential play for fans of isometric, story-driven titles. The detective work is paced and executed in a way that makes you feel like you're actually solving crimes, rather than following scripted conversations. The environments are varied and interesting, and the music absolutely slaps. This is a title that deserves your time and attention. »

CD-Action 90/100

« Here’s a proof that it’s possible to create an engaging game based mainly on dialogues (comparisons to Disco Elysium work in Gamedec’s favor, but there’s a lot less text to read here). Gamedec’s world is original and immersive, the investigations are interesting, the detective’s unique skill system works great and the deduction mechanic is brilliant. [11/2021, p.54] »

Impulsegamer 88/100

« The deduction mechanic reminds me a little bit of L.A. Noire but perhaps a bit more forgiving here. I found it to be a fun world to jump into and I can only imagine what it would be like as a real VR game. For the variety of game worlds you get to play in (to an extent)… it’s pretty good value for money and if you enjoy a good detective story and the chance to solve problems via deductions, this should be right up your dark alley. »

Ragequit.gr 85/100

« Despite being a little rough around the edges, Anshar Studios' first RPG attempt in the cyberpunk world of Gamedec manages to hold its own against even AAA ventures in the genre. »

Softpedia 85/100

« Gamedec is ambitious and fun for the adventure game fan who is willing to put up with some issues. I like the variety of the cases and the way the main character has options when it comes to dealing with NPCs. I enjoyed the mysteries, despite the sometimes convoluted way that leads to an answer. The future it envisions is also a pretty plausible and weird one. I wanted the developer to have the resources to deliver the amount and quality of writing to match their ambitious universe. But for players looking for a smart cyberpunk narrative and willing to overlook some problems, Gamedec is a good way to spend 10 or so hours. »

GameStar 84/100

« A captivating detective narrative that fascinates with its unusual tech-noir setting and a myriad of ways to solve the game. »

RPG Fan 83/100

« There’s a lot in Gamedec that’s praiseworthy. I love how the game constantly evolves based on decisions made throughout it, and the story itself developed into something truly memorable as it progressed. Those who want to play an engaging cyberpunk sci-fi RPG with an emphasis on decision-making may very well want to try Gamedec out, especially now that it is updated and more polished. »

« [SPOILER ALERT: This review contains spoilers.] »

Speranza 10/10

« Inspiration/innovation -5 stars(unique game) Deduction/consistency-5 stars(superb, natural system of deduction) Empathy/feeling-5 stars(you really feel like the main Character, including mystery and atmosphere created by your decisions) Action/Risk management-5 stars(multiple ending, expertly intertwined) *** Hopefully, there will be more games like this in the gaming space, stimulating not only dreaming and magic realms but also thinking out-of-the-box. Thank you for this game to all its creators! »

danilogan7 7/10

LiveFastDieFast 8/10

« Such a pretty game! Nice to play but with a bit lack of depth. Simple and very pleasing. »

4ya5h1 5/10

« til this game was dirty cyberpunk detective rpg it was amazing, 10 out of 10, but after it became a sci-fi... setting is very good, main character is good, but side characters very uninteresting »

syclonix 9/10

« If you like detective games and you like cyberpunk settings, this is a must-have. It's like playing a Frogwares Sherlock Holmes game in the Bladerunner/Cyberpunk universe. The gameplay and story and setting are all spectacular. There are a few minor issues with translation that make the game feel less polished than it could be, but I would take an unpolished gem **** over a polished turd any day. »

KinimodYunmi 8/10

BulgarianCritic 5/10

« This actually has a really good potential to become a wonderful game if it wasn't so badly executed The choices you make barely have an impact on the overall progress and ending. The puzzles were more annoying than actually interesting. The skill tree could be something great if it had more Perks . The story is a bit of a mess with a pretty great introduction of the world at the start which loses its charm after you reach the third virtual world. I hope that maybe someday the developers will make a second gamedec game which will be more polished with more features and an improvement on the script. Wasted potential right here. »
