Description (IGDB)

Homesick is an adventurous first person 3D puzzle game developed by indie game company Lucky Pause. Explore an abandoned building, encountering puzzles and clues as the story unfolds. You seem to have been there so long that direct sunlight is blindingly bright, at home in the serene but foreboding atmosphere. But when you sleep, you are plagued by nightmares, frantically running down hallways chased by darkness, an axe in hand. Find the remnants of the building's inhabitants to discover who you are, what happened, and what you need to do, as you try to escape in both your nightmares and the waking world. Homesick is a puzzle exploration mystery game with a first person perspective, in a richly detailed and atmospheric 3D environment. Incredible live-instrument original score included as an mp3 album.

Great Reviews for Homesick!

“I highly recommend Homesick as a beautiful and thoughtful gaming experience.” 8.9 / 10 – OnlySP Homesick has received some really great reviews, and we now have a Metacritic aggregate score of 75/100! Here are some of our favorites: "Lucky Pause’s Homesick game is about as far away from the mass-market appeal of games like Call of Duty as it’s possible to be. . . . this Homesick game is a strong example of the power of interactive fiction." – Game Rant "a bigger story emerges that involves a community of the future trying to fight back against impending environmental doom—a community fraught with problems that will sound very familiar to players today" – Kill Screen "Homesick is a feat of interactive storytelling, resplendent in its game design and gorgeous graphics." – Side Questing And for one week only, Homesick is on sale for $9.89!

More Like Fear Esther: Homesick Hits Steam

A couple months ago we mentioned a game called Homesick – A kind of Dear Esther-like, moody first-person explory puzzle thing. Here’s a handily placed link. …

Avis des critiques et joueurs

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)

COGconnected 85/100

« Homesick is one of those games that I feel everyone should experience. It really spoke to me and I have not felt this way playing an adventure game for a long time. I do suggest taking your time and just soak it all in as you will surely enjoy every minute of it. »

4P.de 85/100

« Homesick transports its mysterious story exclusively with the items in the environment and manages to captivate without narrator or pre-rendered cutscenes. A very interesting storytelling journey. »

Kill Screen 72/100

« Homesick isn’t a perfect game, but it succeeds in fostering a sense of curiosity that will carry you to the end, and its slow drip of sadness and wonder can be intoxicating. »

Game Rant 70/100

« Beautiful environments, a deliberate slow pace, and an intriguing story to unravel for completionists make this Homesick game a moody journey. »

SpazioGames 70/100

« Impressive atmosphere, good puzzles and an absorbing storyline, in this slow but inspiring adventure. It's no masterpiece, but you'll want to discover more and more as you play. »

Multiplayer.it 65/100

« A walking simulator in a gorgeous and mysterious environment that simply lacks the narrative drive of games like Dear Esther or Gone Home. A unique experience nonetheless. »

Adventure Gamers 60/100

« It creates a great atmosphere, but the overall Homesick experience ultimately feels a bit threadbare. »

CD-Action 55/100

« Homesick can be visually dazzling and sounds great, but the elements that should really encourage players to explore its world – story and puzzles – are just not up to par. [09/2015, p.48] »

« Good game , beautiful locations and great atmosphere and soundtrack , but the dreadfully slow walking speed »

Kelen 7/10

« 7/10 ️ - Good game (after 5 hours of playing & completing the game) Beautiful locations and great atmosphere. Loneliness, peace, slowly moving through gray corridors forgotten by the world »

Renovatia 4/10

Twirkkhu 6/10

« As much as I adore walking simulators, I really can't recommend Homesick for the current price. First of all, it's short. I finished it in just over three hours, but it could easily be beaten in a solid two. The walking in this game is dreadfully slow, and you have no way to sprint or alter the walking speed in any way. This is a big flaw, as it makes moving around awfully tedious. I mean, I appreciate that you want us to take it slow and all, but if I've forgotten something in a room 100 metres away, it should not take me thirty seconds to get there! Why couldn't you just add a sprint button? It would make the game much less tedious. This game lacks areas. For an exploration game, this game has shockingly few areas to explore. They are bloody gorgeous, though. There was at least one puzzle I genuinely liked, the others were a bit "meh". Most of them have to be figured out without any instructions, which makes some of them rewarding, but most of them were just... obtuse. I can't really speak for the story, as I didn't really feel the need to read all of the notes and books scattered around the place. The awfully slow walking speed I mentioned before is to blame. All in all, this game was a disappointment. The visuals are gorgeous, but the dreadfully slow walking speed made it hard for me to enjoy the game as a whole. »

Qatar948 10/10

« The game is nice ,price is high , but its to short :/ , but still I enjoyed every single sec in this game I hope they add achievements and free dlc to this game. »

Drongo 5/10

« Yes, I do like walking simulator. But this one... Sorry, it really tries to be as slow as possible. Why can I not walk faster? Maybe because it would shorten this short game even more? No, that is not the right way. Five points for some nice ideas and the really good graphics. But not more, because to slow and the story ... at the end ... not really mind-blowing. »

Sjalka 8/10

« Gorgeous visuals a good soundtrack (although i think that Erik Satie Piano may have fit better even) - and an atmosphere that immerses a (willing) player into this lonesome world. I should make clear that the players willingness and ability to actually immerse her/himself into the game is crucial in order to enjoy it. This is a very tranquil - very slow game - right on the edge of a walking simulator. When in the right mood for such a game - it is an easy 8/10 ... when not in a kind of melancholy mood - it may be a 2/10 for being quite boring. But i d rate it an 8 - because i would assume that people buying that game know what it is about - and know how to enjoy such a game. (which is people that enjoy games like Esther or Gone Home) »
