J'aimerai aimer le jeu. Malgré toutes ses qualités, il est a un très beau pixel art, une musique cool, plein de bonnes idées pour certain donjon. J'ai fini le jeu, mais j'ai pas passé un super moment. Je me suis moyennement amusé. Le jeu est assez pé...

RPG Site 100/100

« From start to finish, Mina the Hollower had me enthralled, which is pretty incredible for a game that ran me about 18 hours for a first-time playthrough (54% exploration rating). Some truly masterful game design on display, along with excellent spritework and sound design, make this an all-timer and an easy recommend for...frankly, anyone that enjoys video games. You can set the difficulty to your liking in a way that I haven't seen, ever, which makes this accessible to a very wide range of players. The exploration is top-notch, the story is riveting, the art style is striking, and the myriad ways the developers pull tricks on you is both amusing and well thought-out. I can't recommend Mina the Hollower enough. »

The Outerhaven 100/100

« Mina the Hollower is a brilliant 2D action-adventure game that takes clear inspiration from classic Zelda while building something that feels fresh, challenging, and uniquely its own. Its open-ended exploration, clever combat systems, strong sense of discovery, and flexible modifiers make every part of the adventure feel personal. While its difficulty can spike, Mina the Hollower stands out as an instant classic and one of the best games in its genre. »

Player 2 100/100

« More than just an ode to the GameBoy Color, Mina the Hollower is a masterclass in how constraints can fuel creativity. Inventive and engaging to the end and beyond, this is an instant modern classic. Across two dozen hours, Mina the Hollower reminded me why I ever picked up a controller in the first place; because great games make the playing its own reward. »

Shacknews 100/100

« Mina the Hollower is a rewarding journey all the way to the finish, and thanks to the extensive modifiers and also New Game+, I expect I'll have a blast seeing what we can do with this magnificently spooky adventure for a long time. »

SteamDeckHQ 100/100

« What is perhaps most impressive about Mina the Hollower is how effortlessly confident it feels. Many retro-inspired games are content to imitate the aesthetics of the past while sanding away the rougher edges. Yacht Club Games understand that the magic of those older games came not just from how they looked, but from how boldly designed they were. Mina embraces mystery, difficulty, experimentation, and discovery with absolute conviction. »

IGN 100/100

« Mina the Hollower will burrow into your brain and set up a cozy little house there. I couldn’t let it go: Clues to unsolved puzzles pop into my brain before bed; a corner high out of reach that I never set foot on beckons me every time I pass it on my way to the shops in Ossex; the math tells me maxing out my attack power would just take one really good grinding spot, and then I could beat that secret boss that destroyed me. Mina achieves the same heights in both action and style that its impressive inspirations – Zelda, Castlevania, and FromSoft RPGs – reach on a regular basis, and with far fewer resources. Even if all you’ve played is Breath of the Wild and Elden Ring, don’t let the retro look fool you: Mina the Hollower will scratch the same itch, with an open world that’s crammed with mysteries worth finding and lively, clever combat I couldn’t get enough of. It’s a big game in a small package, and an absolute masterpiece of an adventure. »

Cubed3 100/100

« While Mina the Hollower might not play like the games it's clearly inspired by, Yacht Club Games has instead taken bits and pieces from all of its inspiration and combined it with its years of experience on Shovel Knight to create a masterpiece. The demo may not have sold the game's full potential, but the final product surpasses expectations. Going for a full 100% run is a ton of fun, and it’s taking all sorts of strength to not go back and play another full game. »

TheGamer 100/100

« Mina the Hollower is an almost faultless game that combines elements of nostalgic classics we know and love with a healthy dose of Yacht Club’s flair and expertise to make it something that truly stands out as a retro-inspired masterpiece. I could honestly play it forever, with Yacht Club proving that it’s not just a one game studio with yet another bonafide classic. »

« An absolute masterpiece with a haunting, unforgettable ending! (10/10)Mina the Hollower is, without a doubt, one of the best games I’ve played in years. The gameplay, the atmosphere, and the pixel art are top-notch, but what truly blew me away was the story and its emotional impact.I just finished the game, and my run ended with the standard ending. After an intense, epic final battle where I managed to defeat Baron Lionel, the island completely spiraled into chaos. Instead of being celebrated as a hero, the people blamed Mina for the catastrophe, forcing her to flee all alone on a boat just to survive.Honestly, watching that ending left me with a profound sense of sadness (una pena enorme), but in the best way possible. It’s rare for a game to make you feel that level of raw emotion. It's a tragic, dramatic, and beautifully bittersweet conclusion that cements this game as a masterpiece. If you love deep lore, challenging boss fights, and stories that actually make you feel something long after the credits roll, do not skip this. A well-deserved 9,5/10! »

« Mina the Hollower is ambitious, but where it is that, is it's downfall. It wants to be Elden Ring in both exploration and combat but limit you to the movement **** Zelda game. The movement is clunky, enemies knock you off screen just for them to be back at full health when you walk back in, and the hit detection is inconsistent and will punish you being underground, above ground, in the air, doesn't matter. You have to be on their height to hit them but they can hit you regardless. The game looks cool and the keyboard RBG effects are nice with it, but when you get past the cool addicting leveling up and exploring, you realize the map is a chore to navigate and you will be thrown around in a corner by the .5 second invicibiliy frames after getting hit. If you want a smoother retro experience that feels modern, just play Yacht's Shovel Knight »

« Good game but not very polished. Too easy to get lost, no map, lot of counter intuitive parts of it. Like when I take damage from seemingly nothing, or can burrow into swamp water, etc. »

Shadowking58 10/10

« This is the kind of game that, while may seem divisive at first glance, is the type of game that if it really meshes with you, you will love it. And even if you don't, you can feel the love and passion oozing out of every frame of the game, Yacht Club Games is once again, at the top of their craft. »

« Do not recommend. Although some people do like this kind of game. The game excels at making players hate it the longer they play it. Initially was fine with the base game and finished it. Tried the new game+ and problems become evident. Battle system is extremely clunky, can only attack in 4 directions while enemies can attack in 8, have touch damage, some bosses are so big they fill Almost the whole room. Healing is so slow without specific équipement that I finish drinking water before mina finish healing. Weapon upgrades actually feel like handicaps compared with the base weapons. Platforming is abysmal, sometime invisible walls block jumps just because 1 pixel of mina hit something midair, drop then loses 20% of life. Health loss from falls kills so much that it made bosses feel like a walk in the park. Most of the time is just wasted getting around the place. The games does not tell you much about many mechanics and wants the player the discover them by chance through dying multiple times as if it were a rouge-like. If you not a hardcore gamer, do not attempt the trophies or achievements, they feel more like a chore than achievements. Games are suppose to give you a enjoyment or at the very least a false sense of achievement but this game only offers anger and hatred »

Morph001 10/10

« Yacht Club continues to be amazing at this whole game development thing. Not joking when I say this but Mina the Hollower is probably going to be my game of the decade. Either that or Xenoblade Genesis if it’s good. There’s so much to love about Mina the Hollower. Ossex is a great hub world, getting lost is really difficult despite not having a map, the combat/bosses are top-notch, Jake Kaufman is amazing as usual. Oh and also I like the rat, the vermin is pretty cool. »

BigT1254 8/10

« What a gorgeous game that Yacht Club has put together, and I’m saying that as someone who has never experienced the golden era of pixel art. The gameplay being fun and challenging really is the cherry on the cake. I had a blast playing through Mina the Hollower. The difficulty is definitely a steep barrier and as a result, there were multiple points in the game where I got frustrated to the point of giving up entirely. Never the less, I kept trying, got better and finished the game. Shout out the devs for giving us a myriad of options to tweak the difficulty to your liking. I was too full of pride to back down but I’m sure it’ll be of use to others. On the other hand, The story was a whole load of nothing. Some generators to fix, a bad guy, and the “twist” that most people figure out immediately. That ending was also a bit of a dud. No ones here for the story. I’m here for that gorgeous art style, the lovely music and the hard as all hell combat. Last thing, shout out to Yahtzee Croshaw, cause without him complaining about the mirrors, I would’ve gone the entire game without figuring that out. “I am a mouse and I’m digging a hole... diggy diggy hole” 8/10 »
