Sorti le 26 septembre 2006, NBA 07 est développé par SCE San Diego Studio et édité par Sony Computer Entertainment. Ce deuxième volet de la série NBA: Featuring the Life fait partie des jeux de lancement de la PlayStation 3 et se décline également sur PlayStation 2 et PlayStation Portable. Classé dans les genres simulation et sport, il propose un mode Saison avec toutes les équipes et les joueurs NBA alors en activité, un mode NBA Replay permettant de revivre les temps forts de la saison 2006, ainsi qu’un mode Games of the Week pour télécharger chaque semaine de nouvelles parties et rejouer les moments marquants de la saison 2007.
NBA 07 se distingue techniquement comme le premier véritable titre en 1080p/60 Hz, avec un rendu en pleine HD de 1920x1080. Il utilise aussi l’orientation rotationnelle et l’accélération translationnelle de la manette Sixaxis pour effectuer des mouvements. Jusqu’à quatre joueurs peuvent participer à une même partie, et deux en ligne. Kobe Bryant est la vedette de la couverture.
La note agrégée s’établit à 44,17, mais certains journalistes ont salué le jeu. GameDaily a apprécié un flux arcade fluide, un rythme rapide et une défense intelligente, tandis que Game Over Online a estimé que le jeu, notamment sur PS2, montre beaucoup de puissance et offre une approche rafraîchissante du genre.

« The game just has a smooth, arcade flow that I really appreciate. The action's fast paced, it's really easy to score, but at the same time, the defense is smart enough to pick off bad passes and swat horrible shots. »
