Description (IGDB)

Rayman Raving Rabbids was originally developed as a 3D platform game, under the working title Rayman 4. It was announced by Ubisoft on the 11th of April, 2006, shortly after the cancellation of Phoenix Studio's unrelated Rayman 4 project. Under development by Ubisoft Montpellier, the game was to be a free-roaming action platforming game, in which the player would control Rayman as he battled against an invading army of Rabbids. The game was announced for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows, and the Nintendo Wii, which was then codenamed the 'Revolution'.

Rayman creator leaves Ubisoft to work on a wildlife sanctuary

One of the creative minds behind Rayman, Rabbids, and Beyond Good & Evil has left the videogame industry to pursue something else entirely. Ubisoft vet Michel Ancel took to Instagram (below) to reveal that his next project is a wildlife sanctuary "dedicated to education, nature lovers, and wild animals". "Today is very special for me," Ancel says. "After more than 30 years, I've decided to stop working on videogames and fully focus on my second passion: wild life! My new project takes place in the real world and consists in an open wildlife sanctuary dedicated to education, nature lovers, and wild animals." Ancel goes on to say that his departure won't have any effect on Wild or Beyond Good & Evil 2, and that the teams on the projects have been "autonomous" for some time now. Ubisoft also issued a statement explaining that Ancel hasn't been directly involved with Beyond Good & Evil 2 for some time now as the team works to build on top of the creative vision he laid out. Beyond Good & Evil 2 senior producer Guillaume Brunier also says that progress on the new PC game is coming along nicely, but there is still much to do. Read the rest of the story... Ubisoft announces Rabbids TV show

An animated Rabbids TV series is coming to Nickelodeon in 2013, Ubisoft has announced. The publisher's shrill party game critters will star in 26 half hour episodes on the well-known kids' channel or, if you live in France, 78 seven minute shorts via France Television. The series is being produced by the publisher's recently announced film and TV arm, Ubisoft Motion Pictures. "As the world's most recognised entertainment brand for children and families, Nickelodeon is the perfect vehicle to share the zany Rabbids characters and their crazy adventures with television audiences around the globe," commented Ubisoft Motion Pictures CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet. "This partnership represents a major milestone in Ubisoft's strategy to expand its brands to new media, thereby attracting new audiences to its games." The next Rabbids game down the pipe is Kinect-enabled effort Raving Rabbids: Alive & Kicking, due out on Xbox 360 on 1st November.

Avis des critiques et joueurs

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)

The A.V. Club 91/100

« For those with a twisted sense of humor or just a serious case of attention deficit disorder, Raving Rabbids is not to be missed. »

AtomicGamer 90/100

« Even if there aren't any kids in your household, you owe it to yourself to pick this one up if you've got a Wii. »

Gaming Target 89/100

« A huge demo machine that manages to show gamers what the controller is capable of while providing an entertaining single-player and multiplayer mode. »

Cheat Code Central 88/100

« The game is almost fully realized although it suffers from some repetition, but that gives it room for improvement. I will patiently be awaiting "Rayman Raving Rabbids 2." »

Game Almighty 88/100

« If every mini-game collection was as solid and cohesive as this one, it would be a beautiful time to be a mini-gamer. »

Deeko 85/100

« I enjoyed the many mini-games I played, had a great time watching these little punk bastards suffer at my expense and loved thrusting plungers in their furry little faces. I would have like a bit more of a multiplayer challenge and some of the mini-games are less than fun, but on the whole, I rose up and took down as many Rabbids as possible. »

Console Gameworld 85/100

« In terms of quality of minigames, Raving Rabbids is probably the best the party game genre has ever seen. »

Game Informer 85/100

« This is one of the funniest games ever made, and a fantastic way to teach yourself the controls of the Wii while simultaneously charming friends into understanding why you just spent a few hundred dollars on this new game system. »

Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)

DeveD 9/10

« Ta gra ma dwie twarze. Jedna twarz pokazuję nam że jeśli chodzi o grę jednoosobową to ten tytuł ssie. Jednak jeśli chodzi o grę multip-layerową to jest to naprawdę dobry tytuł. Mini gry są szalone, pomysłowe i co najważniejsze zabawne oraz przyjemne do gry z kolegami. Te mini gry sprawiają radość, a jest ich wiele i tak naprawdę każda z nich jest wyjątkowa i futurystyczna. »

KrashTheBot 7/10

« Fun mini game collection, but the Rabbids themselves are genuinely insufferable. »

WikiPlane48 6/10

« This game is supposed to be a party game, but on the xbox it feels kind of strange. Sure I beat the story mode first, and it was ok except for the Try Again!/You Win!/You broke the record! scenes. They felt like a waste of time and I wish there was a way to skip. The minigames were decent for single player, but a mess for more players, so I suggest you get the second/third games. Also, the rabbids look odd. »

Stri00135456 10/10

« FUNNY INSANE PARTY GAME!!! »

Illyan 10/10

« [SPOILER ALERT: This review contains spoilers.] »

Wofw 8/10

« [RU] Начал своё знакомство как раз с первой части. Ну что я могу сказать? Это отличный сборник мини-игр, в который весело играть даже одному. Хотя жаль, что разрабы нормально не реализовали мультиплеер :( »

DarCbrGr 8/10

« This game is pure nostalgia for me. So many great memories while playing this gem. »

GameDudeGuy 7/10

« this game is kinda of fun but the prototype would have been better this game is only minigames and the minigames is eh i think the game shold have been more than just minigames i would recceomend buying it if you want to laugh hard »
