Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy

« Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy enshrines Asobo Studio’s deep passion and expertise at delivering emotional narratives that are wrought with tension and adventure. As the pieces fall together and players have made the laborious journey along with her, Sophia does not come out unscathed. However, she emerges as one of the rawest, most emotive protagonists in memory. This harrowing spectacle full of constant surprises, daunting vistas, and moving passion is truly a thing of beauty, an unforgettable adventure. »
« A haunting, emotional story is paired with fantastic combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving. Resonance: A Plague Tale solidifies the franchise as one of the best franchises of the modern era and shouldn't be missed. »
« Although Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy doesn't tell the story of Amicia and Hugo, it manages to offer a different perspective to the player. Not only are the graphics impressive, but also the combat, setting, and puzzles which, while becoming tiresome at times, prove to be intelligent and well-developed. This is, without a doubt, one of the best titles of the year. »
« Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a great game with a compelling and excellently performed story. There are still ties back to the original series for fans, and still plenty of tense stealth sections, but this is more action adventure with combat that offers a decent challenge. A new way to adapt the mythology of the Minotaur is the cherry that tops this experience. »
« Putting you in control of a popular character from A Plague Tale: Requiem and letting you experience an important chapter of their life, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy exchanges rats and stealth for combat and puzzles, and is captivating from beginning to end. As long as you don't mind puzzles that involve reflecting light, anyhow. »
« The next step in a clear path from Innocence, through Requiem, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy confidently switches to a full on action-adventure in the vein of Uncharted. A good combat system, simple story-serving design choices and a great story, make this a joy and to play, even as the dread mounts and you descend into the heart of darkness towards scenes every bit and terrifying and memorable as that tsunami of rats. »
« Between the stunning visuals, emotionally resonant storytelling that spans centuries, and satisfyingly varied gameplay loop, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy impressed me from beginning to end. It ran well with basically no technical issues during my playthrough, and I just had a truly great time playing it. It’s a story and a gameplay experience I’ll be thinking about for quite some time, and that’s really saying something. Whether you’re a longtime Plague Tale fan or new to the franchise, Resonance is well worth picking up if you like a good action-adventure game with a strong narrative at its core. »
« Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy successfully fulfills the mission of expanding the franchise's universe without feeling like an expendable chapter. By swapping the Rune siblings for Sophia, Asobo Studio takes a risk with a new protagonist and a more overt approach to combat, yet retains what has always defined the series: a rich narrative, well-crafted characters, and impeccable art direction. »

« Biggest crap of the year you destroyed a plague tale with this third part really destroyed everything the two previous games were perfect didnt finish the game its so shiit »
« From a solid, Uncharted-style start to an unremittingly bleak and tedious final act, this is a game that ran out of ideas about 75% of the way through development yet had to be padded to meet RRP. »
« Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy might be the most underrated game of 2026. As of its release in August, there are a still a number of great games to come this year, but it's my personal game of the year so far. For me, a great game needs excellent gameplay, a beautiful world to get immersed in, and a great story with interesting characters that make me want to care about them and the world. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy checks all those boxes for me and goes even further in many areas with thoughtful storytelling and creative touches that were a pleasure to experience. Not to mention, the game is just gorgeous and has an amazing soundtrack! My only complaints are that I wish the game was a bit longer and that the combat/gear system was a little deeper. But hey, it's intended to be a tight narrative experience and it excels at that. Existing Plague Tale players may find the change to Sophia's aggressive, proactive melee combat jarring compared to Amicia's stealth/ranged approach in the first 2 games. Just come in with an open mind and understand you're not playing as Amicia. For new players, you certainly don't need to play the first 2 Plague Tale games before playing this one. Resonance is actually a great introduction to the series because it's a prequel that takes place before the first game. You also play as Sophia, who is a companion character to Amicia in the second Plague Tale game (Amicia is the main character in the first 2 games). Don't hesitate to dive in if this is your first Plague Tale game! Though just be aware that, if you decide to play the other two, they will be much more stealth focused compared to this one. Some highlights: Great characters. Not just Sophia, but her companions, too. The voice acting AND dialogue writing is very good as well. Cool and unique story. I won’t say more because you do NOT want to be spoiled (be careful of spoilers if you want to play. It would be very easy to get spoiled). The story is dark and heavy, like previous Plague Tale games, but it has its own unique twists and turns. If you haven't played PT games before, the best popular comparison I can give is The Last of Us, though it's a different "flavor" of dark. Beautiful world. Very cool mix of sunny Mediterranean island and dark, creepy cave systems. The level/environment design is fantastic and the art, animation, lighting, and SFX teams did an amazing job bringing this world to life and giving it a very distinct feel. Fast, fluid combat. Parrying is satisfying and Sophia has some cool mechanics like a grapple hook and “the sphere” you can use on enemies. Combat is similar in feel to Ghost of Tsushima/Yotei (though the gear system is much simpler because it's a smaller, linear game). Very cool puzzles and "the sphere" is a cool puzzle mechanic. The puzzles and environments definitely give Tomb Raider vibes, but they have their own unique twist. I wont say more as I don’t want to spoil that either. There is a SUPER unique and creative enemy that you need to deal with throughout the game. I don’t want to say much about it because it’s a major spoiler, but if you’ve played a Plague Tale game before you know how the rats are something you have to deal with throughout the game. It's kinda like that, but also very different. It's seriously one of the most unique enemies I’ve ever experienced. Fantastic sound track! This is one that ended up in my "Game OST" playlist for sure! The game is fairly short (15-25 hours). It’s also very linear (think GoW or TLOU if you haven’t played the other PT games). But I was surprised how much it **** me in for a short game. »
« Amazing A wonderful experience that allowed me to experience two periods: the Middle Ages and the transition to Greek civilization. The gameplay is smooth, the music is amazing, and the dialogues made me feel like I was living the story. Thank you for this masterpiece! ️ »

« My kind of game, if you love Tomb Raider and Uncharted, you’ll feel at home here. »
« The game doesn't really break new grounds in the action/adventure genre, but it's by all means a great game, with wonderful music and direction. If you expect open world, sidequests, complex skill trees, this ain't the game. It's basically a medieval fantasy classic Uncharted game, with swordfight instead of gunplay. Linear, with plenty of puzzles and set pieces, plus a great reimagining of the Minotaur myth in line with the Pague Tale lore. I really loved my time with the game, but it's bound to prove contentious for those who don't enjoy linear games »
