Description Steam (Français)

Build 162 - SubBuild 2026.7.1

Here's another regular update. Surprisingly, there were not too many bugs this time, just some tuning and a few new little features ! I hope you'll enjoy them. 🙂 New Features : - CPU : you can now fine-tune the CPU SubLevel if you feel a jump of 1 SubLevel is too big ; it's especially useful when playing against the Incredible level, where each SubLevel matters more than in other difficulty levels ; to do so, add this line to your Tennis.ini, under : NbSubLevel = 100 (HowTo => https://www.managames.com/Forum/topic19-32161.php ) - Replay : the previous game camera is now automatically restored when exiting the replay if you had activated a saved camera - Localization : Russian translation updated, thanks to strannik ! - Modding : added support for multiple ambient tracks for each stadium (chosen randomly at start) - Modding : you can now choose the Stadium in the match presentation screen by adding this line, under : SelectStadium = 1 Note : if you play with the XKT Mod, you'll have to wait for it to be updated as well - Xbox : the Mod space is now 8 GB instead of 2 ; you'll have to connect in Main Menu -> Mod Management, and wait for your Mods to download and install again Changes : - Strike : the topspin is now more realistically capped depending on the ball's speed (ie: medium-speed balls can't have too much topspin anymore) - Strike : the Shoulder Height Acceleration is now a bit more effective against rising balls, plus the perfect height range has been raised to 15 cm from 10, so it's more efficient against topspin balls on clay - CPU : tuning a few positioning behaviors in doubles Bug Fixes : - Modding : fixed custom Grunts for Service & Acceleration - Consoles : the tournament intro camera was too zoomed ManuTOO === Mana Games ===

Build 161 - SubBuild 2026.5.16

Here we go with a bunch of fixes on the animation side, thanks to some users' Bug Reports ! 🙂 New Features : - Modding : added the possibility to have different grunt sounds for the service and the acceleration Changes : - Strike : the smash can now be hit a bit more on the sides Bug Fixes : - Controls : with the keyboard, when not pressing an exact required strike combination, the closest match wasn't always selected - Animation : your player could do some gesture by himself - Animation : fixed a couple of weird animations - Animation : the prediction strike could alternate between the smash and the forehand (or the backhand), making your player stutter a lot - Animation : the dynamic strike animation wasn't smoothed when your player was starting or stopping to run, leading to abrupt changes - Menus : the controller selection screen's option "Only when 2 controllers or more are connected" wasn't working (ie: it was showing the screen when there were fewer than 2 connected controllers) ManuTOO === Mana Games ===

« Just remember that one man made this game! Quite simply, this game is the definition of "Substance over Style". Under the hood, the physics of this game is the all time greatest. I have a long history with tennis games. I have played most of the Virtua Tennis (VT) games and I have played Topspin (TS) 2/3/4 which are considered the top two franchises. The VT series is the best arcade version for me and the TS series is the best simulation version. I've even grown up with Mario Power Tennis on the GameCube and the more recent Mario Tennis Aces, though I haven't got round to playing the most recent one. The most entertaining tennis games for me belong to Mario and friends. I have also endured EA's Grand Slam Tennis 2 series which was a decent attempt to find a balance between arcade and simulation but it still missed the mark. More recently, I've have the misfortune of supporting Tennis World Tour back in 2018 which in truth was just a quick cash grab with nothing but shallow gameplay. In terms of pure technical gameplay Tennis Elbow is the King. There is no two ways about it. Not a single game mentioned above can even challenge it in this regard. The tireless and lonesome genius behind Mana Games has refined the physics for over 10 years I believe. The ball and surface physics have an immense level of depth. The degree of top spin that can be applied has deep variation that is impacted by the attribute itself, the surface, and even if side spin is added to the spin. Furthermore, this depth is added to serves, where its not just the standard slice, topspin, and power serve, Tennis Elbow 4 also does Kick serves extremely well and is unique in this regard. The problem typically these days is that the casuals and younger crowd think graphics and presentation is everything. Where this game lacks, is of course in its polish. It took one man 10+ years to refine the physics, one can only imagine how much effort would be required to recreate/emulate the polish of Top Spin 4. Therefore, I think many people confuse or fail to appreciate the physics because it doesn't match up to the audio and visual polish that one may expect even though there is not a direct correlation. As an example, the game uses genuine motion graphics for movement and some folks complain it doesn't look realistic. It is simply lacking polish here. Additionally, the menus and music is not pretty and could use a facelift. Nonetheless, it doesn't bother me, nor does it objectively detract from the game. Thank you for a truly fantastic game that reigns supreme above its competitors. It deserves bundles more support and recognition. »

« Terrible game.. Looks good, but after some time of playing i must say it's a garbage.. AI behaviour: Always run to possition and react according of what button you press, that's mean your command triggers AI raction..There is no any logical moves from AI, i mean imagine tennis game where you can't catch opponent on wrong foot (ever) for example. Your backhand will be always weaker then your forhand even if your backhand power skill is maxed out (100). When you facing a bad lob from opponent your player will be stucked between voley and smash animation and you will miss the ball and this could happen also sometimes when you let the ball drop down first. Now the worst thing: You can't hit the slow ball on the rise if ai opponent didn't get in his projected defensive position on the court. Your player will wait for ball to start falling down or eventually you can hit ball sometimes (rarely) on the rise, but it will be a terrible shot even if you are take a perfect position. DON't Buy IT »
