The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth fait l'objet d'une version spécifique sur PlayStation Portable, publiée le 24 juillet 2021 par le studio Yerson Games qui en assure également le développement. Cette itération est présentée comme une version « remastered demake » du titre original, adaptée pour la console portable de Sony. Le jeu reprend le scénario fondateur imaginé par Edmund McMillen : face à la folie mystique de sa mère qui entend la voix de Dieu lui réclamer un sacrifice, Isaac trouve refuge dans les sous-sols où il affronte des hordes d'ennemis dérangés, ses frères et sœurs perdus, ainsi que ses propres peurs.
Côté gameplay, l'expérience propose un action-RPG de type roguelike à génération procédurale où le joueur collecte des trésors bizarres modifiant l'apparence et les capacités du personnage pour survivre aux créatures mystérieuses et percer les secrets du sous-sol. Les données de la base indiquent une durée de vie estimée à cinq heures et demie pour l'histoire principale, pouvant s'étendre jusqu'à près de trois cent quatre-vingt-douze heures pour une complétion intégrale. Le titre est proposé au tarif de 14,99 euros.
L'accueil critique et public, reflété par des scores agrégés de 86 sur Metacritic et 87 sur OpenCritic, souligne la qualité de l'ensemble. Le site COGconnected y voit une amélioration dans presque tous les domaines par rapport à l'original, qualifiant l'expérience de fun, hautement addictive et immersive grâce à son design unique. Multiplayer.it la considère comme la version parfaite du jeu, offrant plus de contenu, plus de sang et « plus de maman ». Du côté des joueurs, un contributeur Metacritic n'hésite pas à affirmer qu'il s'agit possiblement du plus grand jeu jamais réalisé au vu de la quantité de contenu ridicule, tandis qu'un avis positif sur Steam salue le génie d'Edmund McMillen, tout en suggérant avec humour qu'il pourrait nécessiter un suivi psychologique, un autre joueur recommandant l'expérience uniquement à ceux qui disposent d'un traitement contre la schizophrénie.

What seems simple at first quickly reveals itself to be an incredibly deep and endlessly replayable experience. Years later, I picked it up again on PS4 and was amazed by how captivating it still is. Very few games manage to create so much simple but deep atmosphere, challenge, and variety with such a minimalist approach. Every run feels unique, and there are always new funny items to discover and combinate, making it hard to put down. The fact that so many people are still playing it after all this time is a testament to its exceptional quality. A timeless classic. »
