World Series of Poker, jeu officiel de l'édition 2005 du célèbre tournoi de poker, est sorti le 31 août 2005. Développé par Left Field Productions et édité par Activision, ce titre classé dans les genres stratégie au tour par tour et jeu de cartes et de société a été publié sur PC, PlayStation 2, Xbox, PlayStation Portable et Nintendo GameCube. La note agrégée du jeu s'élève à 60,01. La presse a salué certaines de ses fonctionnalités, comme l'usage possible de l'EyeToy sur PS2 pour voir ses adversaires en jouant selon Next Level Gaming, tandis que GameSpot a regretté qu'une licence aussi importante ne débouche que sur un titre de poker simplement compétent. De son côté, un joueur sur Metacritic a apprécié un mode carrière robuste permettant de créer un personnage et de gérer son argent pour les buy-ins des tournois.

« Fun poker game on the Playstation 2! It has a robust career mode where you can create a characters and have them manage their money for tournament buy ins for many different variations of poker such as Omaha, 7 Card Stud, 5 Card Draw and the legendary No Limit Texas Hold 'Em. While there are quick play and online modes, the main draw to this one is the career mode, and just how in depth it gets with your winnings and placings and managing your earnings. Great fun for all into competitive gambling. »
