« Heroes has a ton of depth, it's very well balanced (though not perfect), and nearly every cast member is a blast to play. It achieves almost everything it sets out to accomplish, so I really hope it catches on with the non-believers and continues to grow. »
« With quick and action-packed games, Heroes of the Storm is accessible to new players, but with enough depth that to ensure that you are still learning new ways to use your abilities in different situations and battlegrounds after hundreds of games. »
« Heroes of the Storm successfully brings innovation to a stale genre dominated by 2 giants. Its bare-bones mechanics make it a truly fun game to play, from the beginning of a match to the very end. »
« It has a sneaky depth to it, a crafty addiction about it, where you'll start out just playing a game a day and then suddenly you're browsing the forums on your phone during the intervention your wife is holding because your addiction to Heroes of the Storm has affected her in the following ways... »
« Heroes of the Storm is the newest MOBA game that really conquers our hearts. Blizzard reinvents the MOBA genre with unique features in an easy to grasp game. »
« For fans of Blizzard's IPs, it's a game that holds tremendous value despite its free-to-play nature. For others, it's an exceptional multiplayer game that merits consideration. »
« Heroes of the Storm has a champion's core. Fast, competitive and, most of all, cooperative. And with all the attractive of the Blizzard characters. The MOBA through Blizzard glasses. »
« Heroes of the Storm is a unique MOBA. A breath of fresh air to the genre that comes to us thanks to Blizzard from one of his premises: “Easy to learn, hard to master”. »

« For context, I write in 2026, I have been playing Heroes of the storm since 2017, with more than 2000 hours on it, and let's be honest, the game has been in a slow dying state, with very few updates, since 2020. To me, HotS was the perfect addition to the very restricted MOBA world in 2015. While it would never grow to compete with LoL or Dota 2, the game added a fresh option to the genre. Focused on teamplay and accessibility, the game had very good ideas, which were clearly meant to mark a clear distinction between HotS and its main competitors. The first fundamental idea is the shared experience. In HotS, every experience gained push the team's level up, from 1 to 30. The experience in the only resource in this game, replacing what would be gold in LoL or Dota 2. Instead of items, you get access to talents that dramatically improve your power, at lvl 4, 7, 10, 13, 16 and 20, 10 and 20 concerning ultimates. Sometimes, the choices you make can change the gameplay of your character quite a lot. With these features, you get a game which feel accessible, since you just have to choose mostly between 3 talents for each threshold. However, it doesn't imply a lack of depth. And then, the shared experience make the game much more focused on team play, there is no such thing as feeding one specific player. The second huge difference from LoL or Dota 2, are the map mechanics, and the fact that there are several maps. This brings a whole lot of variety into the gameplay. Even though map mechanics all revolve around map pressure, some are so unique that they change the way to play the game. This feature and the shared experience allow, not only, a great variety of team compositions, but also some very unique heroes you couldn't see in LoL or Dota 2, like Cho'gall (2 players in 1 hero) and The lost vikings (1 player controlling 3 heroes). And it helps keeping boredom at bay. To me, those are the main additions of HotS to the MOBA genre. But there are quite a few other features that I find very good : no need to last hit the minions, mounts to go around the map faster, fountains at every keep, games are wildly shorter than LoL or Dota 2, and you spend much more time fighting with the enemies. And then, of course, you have the huge resource of lore and heroes from Blizzard games, coming with nice art design and iconic musics. Nowadays, the game lacks balance and modernity, however, it is still very fun to play and I love it. It should have been the perfect 3rd place of the MOBA podium. RIP. »
« This is one of the worst games I have ever played. The settings are hell and there is zero in-game explanation, the gameplay itself is boring and repetitive, you are also not rewarded for playing the game, and the matchmaking is very bad. »
« A unique MOBA with shared XP and a great variety of maps that completely change the flow of each match. Absolutely worth playing. The best MOBA out there. »
« The most original MOBA and one of the best games ever made. Unlike LoL, DOTA 2, or Smite it's actually fun. »
« Детсадовская песочница, в которой тебя от всего оберегают, лишь бы ты не расстроился. От чего в этой игре получать кайф/дофамин? Ни крипца не убить, ни удовольствия от убийства вражеского героя не получить. Почему? Потому что соевые близы, оберегая соевую аудиторию, не сделали никакого нормального индикатора о том, кто совершил хирокилл. Да и сам хирокилл выглядит как-то вяленьки, без импакта. Буквально детсад. »
« dead, not managed, incredibly toxic playerbase, no bans for horrible behaviors, racist remarks, or afking. »
« Now, 10 years after it's initial release HotS is still alive and well. I started playing recently and it's Free-2-play now, all heros can be unlocked by playing the game and earning in-game currency. HotS is much less initmidating than other MOBAs like LOL or DOTA. Unlike these popular games, in HotS you know 90% of the heros since they're all well known characters from other Blizzard games. It's a shame that Blizzard doesn't realize the potential of this gem. So despite being 10 years old, it's still a must-try when you're interested in MOBA games. »
« Very boring, the only advantage is a card skin for hearthstone. There's no other reason to play it. »
