The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
Description (IGDB)
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks is the second Zelda game for the Nintendo DS. The art direction is still cel-shading, but the game have notable changes from Phantom Hourglass with more puzzles and a new mode of transportation by train. You have to draw your route to the next area on the map and then let the train run its course. While the train is moving, caution will be needed to avoid obstacles, animals and enemies on the tracks. In certain dungeons, both Link and Zelda will be playable as they will need to work together to solve puzzles.
Histoire (IGDB)
Apprentice engineer Link is ready to travel to Hyrule Castle and receive his engineer's license. During the ceremony, Zelda slips Link a note warning him not to trust the Chancellor and to help her reach the Spirit Tower. The land's Spirit Tracks, mystical railway tracks that cover the land, have been disappearing and she suspects that the Chancellor is the cause. While heading to the Tower, the Chancellor intercepts them and proves Zelda's suspicions right: he casts a magic spell on her, splitting her body from her soul. Link and Zelda must work together to return Zelda to normal and save Hyrule once again.

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)
« Zelda fans are going to love this - but the multiplayer mode is a little bit boring. »
« The sights, the sounds, the characters, the environments, they all combine to make a game that may not represent as much of a move forward as its predecessor, but represents a high watermark in both handheld gaming and video games in general. »
« The evolution of the series in Nintendo DS has left us open-mouthed, and makes us have great hopes for the next Wii game. »
« If you like Zelda games, you were going to buy Spirit Tracks no matter what. But rest assured that you will not only be getting another fine Nintendo DS installment, but one of the series's best handheld titles to date. [Jan 2010, p.82] »
« This is the big launch of DS in 2009. »
« Like previous offerings in the revered franchise, it brings plenty of new bells and whistles, but is still a mostly recognizable Zelda game at its core. »
« The gameplay is also polished and strong as well, continuing to prove the impossible feat of designing a game with a multitude of complex game mechanics all being distilled into stylus-based touchscreen controls. »
« Spirit Tracks is one of the best videogames in the Zelda's franchise and it has probably the hardest puzzles in the series. Although it hasn't the best story and a big longevity, it's a title that will pain you when it starts to end. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« there is a lot of zelda charm here, but the controls are terrible, the train gimmick is too difficult to control especially when trying to stop exactly at the right spot to enter an area. the game is dreadfully in need of fast travel or some kind of auto stop setting, and they make you ride the train SO much. it's just not fun, trying to hit all the rabbits or other things for full completion is a huge waste of time, avoiding enemy trains just a dumb hassle. the basic gameplay loop besides the train is totally cool, i dont mind the stylus controls and they were especially fun for the boomerang. still, it's unplayably tedious and overcomplicated to deal with the main form of transportation, and i only completed about 3/4 of the game out of spite because i was convinced that a zelda game couldnt be this bad. i received this game for free and i hated it, despite loving every other zelda entry ive played. the only one i can say i have close to the same amount of loathing for is skyward sword, and again it's because of a pointless, poorly conceived transportation gimmick that gets in the way of every other aspect of the experience. at least that game has a ton of redeeming qualities to make up for the loftwings. »
« I finally recently played this after playing Phantom hourglass years ago, and this game is a huge upgrade. Although the stylus controls can still be a pain and the spirit tower area is very repetitive. This game still feels very original for a Zelda game atmosphere wise. »
« Very underrated game, i love the story and characters, the dungeons are creative, short but fun game »
« For the DS, the game is magnificent. The console's touch screen is a pleasure to use. But the game is not without its faults. First of all, Zelda. Or at least when she's on a spectrum. She's slow and stupid. The second is the Tower of the Gods, which was a good idea at the outset, but it soon becomes long and repetitive. It's a shame because I liked the concept of closing the seals. The third is the final boss, which is useless. No interesting backstory, nothing. Just a demon with no motivation apart from ruling the world. The last negative point is the shrines. It **** to have to make a melody that you'll never use and that's boring to reproduce, and to think that you'll have to do it five times (six if you count the final battle where you have to do it with Zelda). The game is otherwise very good, just a little disappointing. »
« This game is an improvement over Phantom Hourglass, but itis still ruined by the controls. At least in this game the dungeons are a lot more interesting and the music is awesome. »
« Really Good Puzzles, But still worse puzzles than spirit tracks, the train was good but worse than the boat, besides the music this game is just a slightly downgraded phantom hourglass »
« I LOVE this game, it Was my first Zelda game and it's one of my favourite games so far »
